I had the "idea" moment in the fall of 2018 when I reported to the 101st Airborne Division. I was reading the history of prestigious WWII units and discovered the story of Soldiers returning home with Hawaiian shirts. That was the first moment I thought - this is the real story of the Hawaiian shirt in America - someone needs to tell this story. I believed people might benefit from a message that reminds us how precious life really is. But it remained a side project until I deployed. After the missile attack in Erbil something changed. I was convinced - this is going to be something more.
